Laser

The Dental Laser allows us to do many procedures previously done with the dental drill, usually without the need for painful injections. Perfect for kids and adults, the laser eliminates the whining sounds and vibrations previously asscociated with the dental drill. The laser technology allows us to fix cavities with remarkable precision and then fill them with undetectable white fillings.

Lingual Orthodontics

Lingual braces are applied to the inside surfaces of the teeth. Many people (especially professionals such as lawyers, doctors and sales representatives) opt for these "hidden" braces. It's important to discuss this option with an orthodontist as ingual braces are not applicable to all orthodontic problems. Lingual braces are attached to the inside or lingual side of the teeth which makes them completely non-visible. Lingual orthodontics particularly well-suited for adults whose professions keep them in the public eyes.

Endo Microscope

The endomicroscope has revolutionized the field of endodontic therapy in the recent years. This precision instrument allows for a larger view of the field under treatment there by significantly improving the quality of treatment and reducing the required time. It has also helped reduce the number of x-rays required during the process of treatment without having to compromise on the result of the treatment, thereby improving the patient and the doctor's comfort.

Digital OPG

An Digital OPG (Orthopantomogram) and Lat Ceph (Lateral Cephalometric Radiograph) is a panoramic or wide view x-ray of the lower face, which displays all the teeth of the upper and lower jaw on a single film. It demonstrates the number, position and growth of all the teeth including those that have not yet surfaced or erupted. It is different from the small close up x-rays dentists take of individual teeth. An OPG may also reveal problems with the jawbone and the joint which connects the jawbone to the head, called the Temporomandibular joint or TMJ. An OPG may be requested for the planning of orthodontic treatment, for assessment of wisdom teeth or for a general overview of the teeth and the bone which supports the teeth.

Lateral Cephalogram

A Lateral Cephalogram (or Lat Ceph) is an x-ray taken of the side of the face with very precise positioning, so that various measurements can be made to determine the current and future relationship of the top and bottom jaw (maxilla and mandible) and therefore assess the nature of a patient's bite. This is particularly useful to plan any orthodontic treatment that may be necessary. As treatment progresses, it is helpful to have any additional Lat Cephs taken at the same practice so that the x-rays can easily be compared.
